Bros.
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

Our office is teeming with the coolest stuff. I walked into this one room and there was a collection of Mario toys all lined up against a wall.

Nintendo Medley

A note warned people not to touch them, because they were to be used in a "photo shoot of the gods". I got some shots in before they could dismantle this array of brilliance.

Office Chair
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

This is just a chair, a stupid chair. Don't pay any attention to it. This chair deserves nothing.

2HB
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

Now this is cool. This is Tim Schafer's business card. He's pretty much my idol. I would snap the necks of one thousand puppies if he commanded it. One thousand and one? Well, then I'd start asking questions.

Ghostly Peter
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

Peter, who has previously starred in my phblog on May 12th, June 10th, July 13th, July 28th and August 23rd, came to live with me for a week. He's looking for a flat in London, as he's starting his second year at Imperial.

Pen
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

Bank Holiday Monday? More like Bank Holiday Funday, what with all these pens lying around on my floor.

Bulbs are really bright. This photo is really misleading.

Fly
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

This fly looks like he's going to tuck into that plant, which is a bit silly because flies don't eat plants. They eat jam and shit.

Matt's hands are bigger than his face. The doctor's given him six months to live.

Peter - Neutral
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

This is Peter. He is a little bit taller than me, and his eyesight is a little worse than mine. We often get ourselves into comical situations. Our lives are like one big never-ending sitcom.

Canyon Sewer Volcano
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

I reviewed Enemy Territory: Quake Wars today. It's about these Strogg, who come from the Moon to enslave the humans. But the humans, let me tell you, they're having none of it. None of it all the way to hell.

Lefty and Righty
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

The one on the left goes on the left foot. The one on the right, well, I never figured out what that one does.

Innocent
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

I told my GP I have a varied diet including plenty of vegetables and fruit. What I meant to say was I drink Innocent Smoothies in between cheeseburgers.

Cheese is a vegetable.

Belts as Ties
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

This is me wearing a belt as a tie. Maybe I've been looking at it too long, but I think it looks pretty cool. I'll try it next time somebody asks me to dress formally.

Photograph 6,414
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

This is the 6,414th photograph I've taken with this camera since I first purchased it on the second day of the year. That's an average of 28 shots a day.

I think it's safe to say that this was money well spent, and the purchasing this camera has had a positive and profound effect on my life. So woo for that.

Grapes
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

Grapes! Sometimes I get such a craving for grapes, that I simply must go out and buy a bag of grapes immediately. These grapes were particularly delightful. I would offer you one but oops I have eaten them all. Teehee.

Tesco man, oh
Tesco man, oh
Where are you going?
Tesco man?

What have you bought?
Oranges and bread?
I can see the blue stripes
running through my head, oh

Tesco man, oh
Tesco man, oh
Sell me a dream, oh
Tesco man

The Editor
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

Another shot for the magazine's letters page. This month it's editor Jamie responding to the readers. I hope he doesn't offend any, because readers are rare, like Bengal tigers.

The population of the country goes up, but the number of people buying magazines goes down. What is the world coming to?

Gadzooks!
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

Log's beard is hilarious. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be. I shopped a hat and a monocle on to this and emailed it around the office anyway.

Pimps
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

One moment you're fishing pennies out of a Pringles tube to afford some popcorn chicken, and the next you're drinking champagne in the back of a stretch hummer, surrounded by a curious mixture of people who like you, people who are paid to like you, and people who will not make eye contact with you, even when you press the button that makes lasers shoot around the ceiling. This is the life of a games journalist.

Baker Street
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

I think I've taken enough shots of the westbound platform to make one of those really long posters, you know, where they're all stitched together to make a lifesize picture of the entire platform? Maybe I'll do that one day.

Lucy
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

Clare, our production editor, left today. So we went to Wetherspoons to mourn her leaving. Luckily, she had vouchers for everybody, so the food was really cheap.

On the way back to the office I saw this dog, and immediately began petting it and getting it excited. It whimpered and made happy noises, and I took a picture. A few days later I saw it again being walked down Baker Street.

Ticket
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

Taken on the platform at Angmering Station. This was the day Tim taught me to windsurf. Afterwards I met Guy. We drove around for a bit, ate at McDonalds, then went for a beer. I slept on the train back to London.

Possibly the best day I've had all year.

Friends!
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

A candid snapshot of the loving friendship that embraces Prees, Fran and Emma. Truly they are bathed in the glow of life and everliving happiness.

Not pictured: Jess puking her lungs up in a bush after taking some herbal drugs and passing out while her boyfriend Tom attempts to keep her from choking on her own stomach.

Met Dan in the pub on this day. That's not Dan in the picture though, that's a man whose name I don't know. He looks like his name might be Cliff, or Ray. Or Cliffray. Bzzzzt.

I picked up a cycling map at Leytonstone tube station. It didn't inspire me to start cycling to work. London's got far too many roads.

Edgware
Originally uploaded by escaped.monkey.

Here we are: August. This is where it starts to feel like the end of the year is coming. I don't know what it is about the word August (actually I do, it's because it looks a bit like Autumn), but it depresses me.

I shot this on the way to pick up my contact lenses. Turned out to be my most popular photograph on Flickr ever. It even made it to the Explore page. I felt a little bit proud, but nobody around me seems to understand what the Explore page is.
